Hands-on Artists' Book Workshop: Monoprinting Artists’ Books

A monoprint is a form of printmaking that results in one final print, unlike other printmaking techniques where one print plate generates multiple prints or an edition.

Simple bookmaking forms and printmaking strategies will be introduced. We will view pieces from the Michael and Susan Kahn Political Cartoon Collection. In response to our collection visit, we will utilize copied and found images from the collection and those supplied by participants, we will generate typewritten and monoprint images in response to our collection visit. Participants will leave with bookmaking and printmaking techniques that they can incorporate into their creative practices whether responding to their political or personal environments.

Registration is required as space is limited. Click on the More Details button to RSVP for the workshop.

Preceding the workshop, join Blassingame for her 10:30 a.m. in-person lecture, Primrose Press: Making Books, Prints, & Community,

This series is made possible through funds gifted by Michael and Susan Kahn in support of their recently donated world-class collection of political cartoons.
