Do you lie awake at night waiting for your R script to finish? Is your laptop running out of memory due to merging million row data frames? Do you panic at the thought of opening your data file in Excel? This presentation is for you!
We’ll cover some low hanging fruit and basic approaches to squeeze the most out of your local machine when dealing with larger data sets. We will walk through some efficient command line tools and file formats to get the most out of your laptop. This event is part of UC Love Data Week 2025.
Led by Leigh Phan, data scientist, and Kristian Allen, digital library architect
This workshop will be offered via Zoom. If you're registered, you'll receive the Zoom invitation information the day before the workshop.
