Data Literacy Workshop

In this final session of the UCLA Library fall 2021 Data Literacy workshop series, we will unpack the assumptions we make when collecting data for research projects. We will discuss the consequences when assumptions are wrong in research and how this can lead to flashy headlines and misleading conclusions about research. Finally we will cover some ways to avoid these pitfalls that might lead to lying with statistics.

The UCLA Library Data Literacy workshop series explores topics that help us understand our roles in the data economy, as both consumers of data-driven products in our daily lives and creators of data-driven research within the academy. The workshops are open to all learners and require no prior knowledge or experience.

This workshop will be offered via Zoom. If you're registered, you'll receive the Zoom invitation information the day before the workshop.

Registration has closed.
