Research Workshop

Developing an effective online presence is an essential way to introduce yourself and your research to a scholarly and general audience. This hands-on workshop series will introduce two platforms for building websites to publish academic projects online or create an online portfolio. Over the course of the Spring quarter, we’ll learn how to use GitHub Pages and WordPress for projects or personal websites. Attend one or all of the sessions. No prior experience is required.

This first session will serve as an introduction to web publishing, including questions about web hosting, the differences between static and dynamic websites, the advantages and disadvantages of both, and options for building sites in either modality. The session will conclude with an overview of the platforms that will be used in the subsequent workshops.

This Workshop will be offered via Zoom. If you're registered, you'll receive the Zoom invitation information the day before the workshop.

Registration has closed.
