The Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library has opened as a physically distant study space for UCLA currently enrolled students, and currently employed staff and faculty. With the exception of the Charles E. Young Research Library (YRL), all other libraries remain closed. In order to make a reservation you will have to login with your UCLA Single Sign-On (Shibboleth) credentials.
Study spaces are reservable for 4 hour blocks Monday - Friday; from 9am - 1pm, and 2pm - 6pm. From 1pm-2pm the library will be closed for cleaning. You do not have to stay for the entire four hours of your reservation, and you will be allowed to exit and re-enter YRL during your reservation period. In order to provide broad access to study spaces, you may reserve up to two 4-hour blocks per week, up to one week in advance. Please note that for Intersession periods, study spaces will only be reservable from 1pm - 5pm Monday - Friday.
Important reminder: entry into the Biomedical Library is only for reserved study space. No other library services will be provided, and there is no access to physical collections. Library staff will not be on hand to help you with other library services. Please consult the Library's Remote Services Page for further details on how to obtain other library services.
You will need the following items to gain entry into the Biomedical Library during our limited hours. If you do not have all three you will not be allowed to enter the building:
- Current BruinCard
- Confirmation of a reservation made in advance (e.g. the email confirmation you receive)
- Proof of current (day of your reservation) Symptom Monitoring Survey (you may use the PDF approval form or show the email confirmation)
